S.F.: LGBT votes split on Super Tuesday

In my reporting around these parts, I found the gay vote tilting a bit toward Hillary. But the San Francisco Chronicle is reporting their gays are split on their Democratic choices.
Clinton has tapped into the network of gay support that her husband forged during his presidency and started with a stronger base of gay support, [...]

What’s Gay About Monday, Feb. 4, 2008

Here’s a new little daily feature we’re going to try to spin out there and see what happens:

Hillary Supporters Get Out The Gay Vote

Hillary Clinton supporters will be working hard in the gay community tonight, drumming up support for their candidate. After a day full of door-to-door campaigning and CofC rallies, New York Assembly Member Danny O’Donnell and “Pushing Daisies” co-star Ellen Greene will be meeting LGBT voters out at Dudley’s and Pantheon tonight.

Hillary On LGBT Youth

Hillary answered a question on her online forum about GLBT youth and the high rates of depression and suicide. (At about 3:40).

She says there need to be more services, particularly efforts to educate teachers and peers. She also suggests mentoring.
“We’ve got to send a clear message that we value you as a total person,” she [...]

Wish He Would Run

Even more proof that I wish Al Gore would step back into the political ring… He has now come out in full support for gay marriage. And that’s more than we can say for ahem…. any of the other candidates.

BELIEF.NET: Is it your goal to bring the Constitution into strict conformity with the [...]

Okay, we’re back from the holidays. I know what you’re thinking: “It’s been weeks! Weeks!” We know. It’s been a really, really long disco nap.
We’ve actually been covering presidential politics like mad. So, it should come as no surprise that our first post out of the gate is about both gays and politics.
Sen. Barack Obama [...]

You will be amazed at how far we have come and how [...]

Federal Hate Crimes Bill Dead

This news from 365 gay:
Thursday Senate conferees reluctantly agreed to strip the Shepard Act from the defense bill, realizing that they lack the votes to pass the measure.
In a private meeting Wednesday night, House Majority Leader Steny [...]

Log Cabin Fashion Advise: Ditch the Mitt-Flops

The Log Cabin Republicans have a new ad on the radio in New Hampshire today against Mitt Romney. Like the last TV spot, the new ad doesn’t address Mitt’s shift against protections for gays and lesbians, but instead highlights Romney’s abuses against the people of New Hampshire when he was the Mass. governor through tax [...]
