In my reporting around these parts, I found the gay vote tilting a bit toward Hillary. But the San Francisco Chronicle is reporting their gays are split on their Democratic choices.
Clinton has tapped into the network of gay support that her husband forged during his presidency and started with a stronger base of gay support, political operatives say. But the momentum that has built for Obama in the general population has resonated in the gay community.
It appears that the issue motivating gay and lesbian Democrats to vote for one candidate or the other isn’t gay rights; it’s who they believe has the best chance of returning a Democrat to the White House, said Kenneth Sherrill, a Hunter College political scientist and an expert on gay politics.
“People are most concerned about the crazy war and that the economy is in the tank,” Sherrill said. “That’s what’s driving people this election.”

I’m happy to finally see the Clinton campaign being derailed financially and by the departure of quality personnel. We need to end the cycle of family dynasties int he White House!! 8 years of Clinton and now 8 years of Bush is enough. Let’s elect some REAL Change, Obama. He is a community builder and will get this nation back on track. Plus he’s realistic in his approach and tells you the truth.
There are too many unanswered questions left by Clinton from the White Water Real Estate land deal and the Vince Foster suicide that make me not trust her.
Let’s unite behind the Democratic true front runner who won the Potomac primaries tonight and who carried south carolina over Hillary just a few weeks ago, Let’s vote for Change! Let’s vote for Obama as a proud GLBT community!!
